Regulatory Compliance Officer

Regulatory Compliance Officer

Where you will work

Our client is a listed specialty insurance group that runs a data-driven risk exchange. Founded in 2018, it connects a network of MGAs with the insurers, reinsurers and institutional investors that provide the underwriting capital. The focus is on small and medium-sized businesses and their niche commercial risks, in the US, UK, Canada and Europe. In Europe our client has its own EU-regulated insurance company, authorized to write business across the EEA.

Our client is growing into new markets and products, with a larger network of insurance market participants and a way of working that leans more and more on AI agents. Every new product, partner and market brings its own regulatory questions. To keep compliance in step with that growth, our client is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Manager.

What you will do

You are the compliance contact for the business. You work closely with Legal, Risk and the privacy function, and you are involved early, before products and partners go live. You have a real say in how compliance is set up as the organization grows.

Monitoring & advice

  • Lead the monitoring and testing of the controls that cover our client’s compliance exposures, and follow up on findings with the control owners.
  • Support the product approval and review process (PARP) from a compliance perspective, for new products as well as changes to existing ones.
  • Act as the central point of contact for compliance questions from the business, and give clear and practical answers.

Licensing & onboarding

  • Support regulatory license applications and cross-border activity passporting into new markets.
  • Review and validate the onboarding of insurance market participants (compliance due diligence).
  • Review and improve the onboarding framework, so that checks are consistent and can be repeated.

Policies & reporting

  • Review and improve compliance policies and procedures, and keep them aligned with changes in regulation and in the business.
  • Support board and regulatory reporting by preparing and checking the compliance input.
  • Support the privacy function on an ad hoc basis.

Who you are

Must-haves:

  • Compliance experience in the insurance or banking industry.
  • Hands-on experience with a product approval and review process (PARP).
  • Good regulatory knowledge, preferably of EU insurance regulation such as Solvency II and IDD.
  • Fluent English.
  • Located in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain or France.

You also:

  • Can explain a regulatory point to a colleague who is not a compliance specialist, in a few sentences.
  • Work independently and are comfortable in a remote team spread across countries.
  • Pay attention to detail when testing controls and reviewing documents.

What you can expect

  • A gross annual salary of €100,000.
  • A bonus of 10%.
  • A fully remote role.
  • Collective health insurance.
  • A pension scheme.
  • Training and development opportunities.
