Fully Remote | Contract | IT Security Engineer
Immediate start until the end of 2026 (extension highly likely)
Daily rate in euros can be discussed based on experience
We are looking for a hands-on IT Infrastructure Security Engineer to join a small team supporting both infrastructure security projects and the day-to-day operation of critical security services across a global IT environment. A key focus of the role will be the operation and continuous improvement of web application and API security scanning across the application portfolio, alongside broader security platform engineering, automation and BAU operations.

- Hands-on experience with DAST, ideally Tenable WAS, including web and API scanning, authenticated scans, SSO/token authentication, crawl configuration and OpenAPI/Swagger scanning.
- Strong understanding of application architecture and security, with the ability to assess applications and determine appropriate scan scope across legacy, SPA, API and microservice environments.
- Practical knowledge of OWASP Top 10, API Security Top 10, authentication, authorisation and session security.
- Experience with SSO/SAML/OIDC, OAuth2, MFA, API keys, bearer tokens and mTLS.
- Ability to work confidently across cloud and on-premise environments, including complex network and access requirements.
- Strong Python/Bash and REST API skills; Tenable API/pyTenable experience highly desirable. SQL, JSON/CSV and Power BI are advantageous.
- Experience with ITSM, CMDB, change management and security governance.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills, comfortable working with engineers, application owners, vendors and management.
- A pragmatic, structured approach with a focus on automation, documentation, service ownership and continuous improvement.
