Senior Investment Accountant / Manager

Location: Parsippany, NJ | Hybrid: 3 days onsite per week

A global insurance and investment management organization is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant / Manager to join its investment accounting team. This role offers hands-on responsibility across investment accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage investment accounting activities, including security accounting, valuation and subledger accuracy.

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly investment close and reporting.

• Apply US GAAP, US Statutory (NAIC), IFRS and US Tax accounting principles.

• Prepare statutory investment schedules, tax basis calculations and supporting tax reporting.

• Investigate complex accounting issues and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain strong internal controls and support audit and regulatory requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and tools such as Power BI and Python.

• Partner with Finance and Investment Management on technical accounting and reporting matters.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years of investment accounting or finance experience.

• Working knowledge of US GAAP, US Statutory and US Tax accounting.

• Understanding of fixed income, equities, structured products and alternative investments.

• Experience with investment accounting systems and strong Excel skills.

• CPA, CA, ACCA or CFA preferred; public accounting experience advantageous.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Exposure to reporting automation and process improvement is beneficial.

Compensation: $130,000-$145,000 base salary, plus benefits.
