Job Opportunity: Senior .NET/C# Developer – Financial Systems Modernization

Overview:
Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Senior C# Developer to support a critical application modernization initiative.
This role will focus on enhancing and maintaining complex financial applications while helping transition legacy systems into a modern C#/.NET environment.
This is not a pure new development role as they need someone comfortable working across legacy VB applications, C# development, and complex financial data environments.
The ideal candidate will have strong development skills, database expertise, and experience supporting systems involving investment accounting, portfolio data, or financial reporting.
Required Experience:
- C# development experience in enterprise environments.
- VB6/VB.NET experience supporting legacy applications.
- Strong experience with:
- T-SQL development
- Stored procedures
- Database optimization
- Data validation and reconciliation
- Experience with source control/code asset management, ideally AWS CodeCommit.
- Experience maintaining and modernizing legacy applications while contributing to new C# development.
- Exposure to financial data structures, including:
- Investment accounting
- General ledger processes
- Portfolio and position data
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and enhance applications using C#/.NET and VB technologies.
- Maintain and modernize legacy VB/Crystal Reports applications while delivering new C# solutions.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting of financial information.
- Gather reporting requirements directly from business stakeholders.
- Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Crystal Reports.
- Background in financial services, investment systems, or accounting platforms.
- Experience with AWS CodeCommit or similar source control tools.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications into newer .NET architectures.
