Senior SAP Basis Specialist – Remote (EMEA)
We’re supporting a leading international organisation on a major SAP transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Basis Specialist to join their Group IT team on a long-term contract.
This is a key technical role within an established SAP Basis function, supporting a complex enterprise SAP landscape while playing a central part in a large-scale SAP Upgrade programme.

The Role
You’ll join an experienced SAP Basis team responsible for the availability, performance and continuous improvement of multiple SAP landscapes supporting critical business operations.
This is much more than BAU support. Alongside day-to-day Basis administration, you’ll be heavily involved in system upgrades, landscape optimisation and modernisation projects as the organisation continues its SAP transformation journey.
Day-to-day responsibilities
You’ll act as one of the technical owners of the SAP landscape, including:
- Administering and maintaining enterprise SAP environments
- Delivering SAP and database upgrades
- Managing system refreshes and support package implementations
- Monitoring system health, performance and capacity planning
- Performance tuning and optimisation across SAP landscapes
- Managing transport requests and landscape configuration
- Supporting SAP release management and Focused Build
- Maintaining backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and carrying out root cause analysis
- Working closely with infrastructure, cloud and application teams to ensure platform stability
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation and operational standards
Technical environment
- SAP S/4HANA
- SAP Basis Administration
- SAP Transport Management System (TMS)
- Cloud ALM (Solution Manager experience beneficial)
- CHARM & Focused Build
- Private Cloud Infrastructure
- SAP BTP (desirable)
- SAP Cloud Connector (desirable)
Ideal Background & Experience
- 10+ years of SAP Basis administration experience
- Strong experience supporting enterprise SAP S/4HANA environments
- Hands-on experience with SAP installations, upgrades, patching and system configuration
- Experience managing transport landscapes and SAP security
- Strong understanding of performance tuning, monitoring and capacity planning
- Experience supporting both on-premise and cloud-based SAP environments
- Knowledge of backup, recovery and disaster recovery best practices
- Experience working with Cloud ALM (or SAP Solution Manager)
- Exposure to SAP BTP and Cloud Connector would be advantageous
- Fluent English is essential
- German would be a significant advantage
Contract Details
- Location: 100% Remote (EMEA) with occasional onsite visits if required
- Start: ASAP
- Duration: Until December 2026
- Extension: Likely 6-month extension
- Workload: Full-time (5 days per week)
