Senior Software Engineer – Stop-Loss Platform (Remote)

Senior Software Engineer – Stop-Loss Platform | Contract-to-Hire | Remote | No sponsorship offered

We’re currently partnering with a leading insurance organization on their search for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the next generation of a brand-new Stop-Loss platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You’ll develop production-ready software in a greenfield environment, taking ownership of key components and features while working closely with architects, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners.

You’ll work from established architectural direction, adapting as requirements evolve, and help shape features and platform capabilities as they take form. Day to day, you’ll use AI-assisted development tools to work faster and raise quality.

Essential requirements (all are must-haves):

  • C#/.NET: current, hands-on experience building production applications.
  • React: experience building front-end applications.
  • AWS: hands-on experience building and running applications on AWS.
  • AI-assisted development: practical experience using tools such as Copilot or Cursor across coding, testing, debugging, and refactoring.

What we’re looking for:

  • 6 to 9 years of cumulative software engineering experience, building production-ready applications.
  • A strong engineer who implements scalable, high-quality solutions from architectural direction and collaborates well with architects and senior engineers.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, evolving environments, and a solid grasp of engineering best practices for reliable, maintainable systems.
  • Someone who is coachable, curious, and proactive in asking thoughtful questions, and open to feedback and continuous growth.
  • Event-driven or microservices experience, Python, and GraphQL are valuable but not essential.
  • Experience in Insurance, Financial Services, or another regulated environment is desirable, particularly where you’ve handled sensitive data.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing production-ready software for the Stop-Loss platform, taking ownership of key components and features.
  • Implementing solutions aligned with the established architecture while adapting to evolving requirements.
  • Collaborating with architects, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Helping shape features and platform capabilities in a greenfield environment.
  • Applying engineering best practices to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Using AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency across coding, testing, debugging, and refactoring.

Why this role is different:
You’re joining at the start of a brand-new platform build, not maintaining a legacy system. You’ll have real ownership of your work from day one, a team that values curiosity and feedback, and the chance to grow with a new engineering capability.
