Sr. Claims Manager, Excess Casualty

Description

Handle complex excess casualty claims throughout the United States. Responsibilities include prompt coverage analysis, determination of liability and defenses, investigation of alleged damages, and timely reserve evaluation.
Attend virtual and in-person mediations and settlement conferences to negotiate cost-effective settlements and, when necessary, attend trials.
Collaborate with profit center leaders, underwriters, actuaries, and reinsurers regarding claim trends, developments, and individual claims.

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 7 years of experience handling excess casualty claims, including experience with New York Labor Law.
Superior negotiation and litigation management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Proactive approach to claims handling and problem-solving.
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of claims management.
Ability to travel as business needs and caseloads require.
Ability to obtain insurance adjuster licenses where required. Candidates who are already broadly licensed are preferred.
