My client, a growth-stage private credit lender with a publicly traded business development company (BDC) platform alongside several private funds, is looking for a SVP, Finance & Accounting to lead their finance function.This is a hybrid 3-4 days in office role in Downtown Chicago. Compensation is around $200-300k base with a competitive bonus structure.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate year-end audits and serve as main contact for auditors, tax advisors, and fund administrators
- Design and test internal controls to meet regulatory and audit standards
- Build annual budgets and cash flow forecasts, tracking actuals for leadership
- Manage investor distribution mechanics, including tax documents and dividend processing
- Liaise with lenders on credit facility terms and amendments
- Oversee accounts payable and treasury, including borrower funding
- Prepare board and audit committee materials
- Support M&A due diligence and integration
- Compile quarterly and annual disclosure reporting packages
- Identify process improvements and partner efficiencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA a plus)
- CPA required
- 10+ years of relevant financial services accounting and reporting experience, including public accounting
- Experience with BDC or private credit accounting and investor reporting strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of Investment Company accounting and reporting standards
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience required
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency
