Our client, a growing insurance organization, is seeking an experienced corporate generalist attorney to serve as a highly visible, business-facing legal partner across corporate, financial, operational, regulatory, technology, and strategic initiatives. This is a broad role supporting senior leadership and multiple business functions, with significant exposure to corporate governance, commercial contracting, regulatory matters, M&A, risk management, technology, and compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, taking ownership of varied legal matters, and serving as a practical, solutions-oriented legal advisor in a highly regulated environment.

Role & Responsibilities

• Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, including Board resolutions, materials, and related legal matters.
• Regulatory: Support corporate regulatory filings, including Holding Company Act matters, and maintain regulatory relationships.
• Transactions / M&A: Support strategic transactions, including M&A, company-level transactions, legal due diligence, and assessment of legal risk.
• Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and other corporate/commercial agreements.
• Vendor / Risk Management: Support vendor due diligence, risk management, and related operational initiatives.
• Financial / Audit: Review financial statement notes, management representation letters, audit materials, and other finance-related legal matters.
• Technology / Data Privacy / Cybersecurity: Advise on cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology matters.
• Compliance: Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
• Business Partnership: Partner with Finance, Operations, Data, Analytics, Technology, and other business functions to provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance.
• Strategic / Operational: Take ownership of evolving legal responsibilities and support new initiatives as the business continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

• Active bar membership in good standing.

• Approximately 5-15 years of relevant legal experience.

• Strong corporate generalist background across governance, contracts, regulatory, transactions, and operational matters.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $200-275k

• Bonus: 40-50% of base salary

• Unlimited planned PTO
