Human Capital Account Executive – Private Equity/M&A

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Close / Diligence

  • Participate in portfolio company audits and evaluations.
  • Review employee benefits programs and “look under the hood” of existing plans.
  • Identify:
    • Cost savings opportunities
    • Program optimizations
    • Risk areas
  • Approach engagements similarly to evaluating a prospective client.

Post-Close / Ongoing Relationship Management

  • Maintain and grow client relationships after transactions close.
  • Lead the service side of the relationship.
  • Convert diligence and audit engagements into recurring business.
  • Manage long sales cycles and stay engaged with opportunities over time.

Client Profile

  • Private equity funds and portfolio companies.
  • Middle-market focus.
  • Typical company size: 100-2,000 employees.
  • Mix of:
    • Fully insured plans (majority)
    • Self-funded plans (some)

Ideal experience

  • 7-15 years in retail broking environment.
  • Enjoys the sales process and business development.
  • Wants autonomy and the ability to manage their own book of business.
  • Comfortable:
    • Prospecting
    • Managing long sales cycles
    • Growing client relationships
    • Leading junior team members
  • Able to balance both consultative sales and account management responsibilities.
