An alternative investment firm is seeking an experienced fund accounting professional to lead financial operations and reporting activities across a diverse portfolio of investment vehicles. This individual will oversee fund accounting, financial reporting, valuation support, investor reporting, and operational controls while partnering closely with investment, operations, and client-facing teams.

Role Function:
- Lead accounting and reporting functions for investment funds, partnerships, and managed accounts.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and oversight to accounting team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Oversee close processes, including reconciliations, expense accruals, fee calculations, and financial data validation.
- Review and analyze portfolio activity, investment transactions, and cash movements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Monitor financial controls, documentation practices, and reporting procedures to support internal governance requirements.
- Evaluate complex investment structures, financing arrangements, allocations, and distribution calculations.
- Review performance reporting and investment-level analytics for accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinate with auditors, administrators, and other external service providers throughout reporting cycles.
Background/Experience:
- Fund accounting & public accounting (tax, audit, assurance) experience within asset management
- Experience with complex investment structures, capital activity, allocations, and fund operations.
- Ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance to unique investment scenarios.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools.
- Prior experience managing teams or overseeing accounting professionals is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
