Head of Conduct Compliance, Int’l Insurance Group, Vietnam

Our client is an international life insurance group that has experienced strong growth in the Vietnam market. In line with its expanding business footprint, the organisation is focused on enhancing its compliance framework and governance standards. It is currently seeking a Conduct Compliance Leader to head the local market conduct function based in Ho Chi Minh City, overseeing sales and distribution conduct compliance activities across Vietnam.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Reporting to the country Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for driving and overseeing Conduct and Anti-Fraud initiatives, ensuring strong compliance standards across the Vietnam business.
  • Lead and manage conduct risk and fraud prevention frameworks, ensuring effective execution and alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of existing controls, providing challenge and driving enhancements to address evolving conduct and fraud risks
  • Design and roll out training initiatives to reinforce awareness of ethical standards, conduct expectations, and fraud risk management practices across employees and distribution channels
  • Maintain clear and timely reporting of key incidents, risk trends, and emerging issues to senior stakeholders at local, regional, and group levels
  • Provide strategic leadership to the team, promoting a strong culture of ethics, accountability, and ongoing improvement
  • Develop team capability through structured coaching, mentorship, and talent development initiatives to strengthen compliance expertise
  • Drive the use of digital tools, data analytics, and innovative solutions to enhance monitoring, generate insights, and improve overall efficiency of compliance and risk management processes

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • University degree in Law, Accounting, Auditing or Finance.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in compliance, conduct compliance, sales & distribution compliance, fraud risk and / or fraud investigation gained from the Life Insurance sector
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial and team management capacity
  • Relevant sales and conduct compliance experience in Consumer Banking would also be considered
  • Exposure to SE Asia markets or Vietnam market would be highly beneficial
  • Passion for leveraging digital solutions and technology to enable transformation
  • Good communication skills in English, ability to speak Vietnamese is highly advantageous but NOT required
