Commercial Claims Litigation Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team handling a portfolio of complex commercial claims in litigation, including liability, property, professional liability, and other commercial lines.
  • Evaluate coverage, liability, damages, and litigation risk to establish reserves and resolution strategies.
  • Direct and monitor outside defense counsel, including case strategy, budgets, and legal spend.
  • Review pleadings, discovery, expert reports, and settlement demands.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
  • Maintain accurate claim documentation and ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, legal, risk management, and leadership teams on significant matters.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations on claim exposures, litigation developments, and settlement opportunities.
