AVP, Casualty Claims
- Base salary up to $165,000 + 30% annual bonus
- NYC or NJ – 4 days in office 1 remote
A leading insurance carrier is hiring an AVP, Casualty Claims. This is a senior-level technical role handling complex Commercial General Liability claims across premise liability, slip & falls, product liability and other bodily injury areas. You will manage mid to high-exposure claims from first notice through to resolution. You will also manage a range of other technical duties including claims reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & fall, auto liability, product liability and other wide ranging bodily injury cases
- Lead coverage investigations and draft detailed coverage position letters independently
- Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
- Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premise/product/auto/slip & falls etc.)
- Strong exposure to coverage interpretation and other coverage matters
- Experienced within litigation through all stages of the claims process
- Experience within reinsurance highly beneficial
- Bachelor’s degree required; Adjuster License preferred
