This is an exciting opportunity for an established claims leader looking to step into a strategic leadership position with broad influence across team performance, operational excellence, and employee development. This role does not carry an individual claims caseload, allowing you to focus on what matters most-leading people.
You will oversee a team of approximately six claims professionals handling Allied Healthcare claims, including exposures involving med spas, physical therapists, occupational therapists, massage therapists, social workers, and other health and wellness professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of claims professionals through regular 1:1s, mentorship, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct file audits and quality reviews, ensuring appropriate coverage analysis, reserving, and claims handling practices.
- Monitor team performance through data, dashboards, and operational metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Deliver monthly performance reporting and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Partner closely with Claims Leadership, Human Resources, and Talent Acquisition on workforce planning, development, and organizational initiatives.
- Independently lead the Allied Healthcare claims team while contributing to broader Claims Leadership Team initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of people leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
- 6-8+ years of claims handling experience involving bodily injury exposures or prior experience as a practicing attorney.
- Experience in Medical Professional Liability, Professional Liability, Allied Healthcare, or another complex bodily injury line is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record of improving team performance and navigating challenging performance conversations.
- Comfortable leveraging data, dashboards, and operational reporting to drive business decisions.
- Professional Lines experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong General Liability leadership experience and complex bodily injury expertise will also be considered.
