We’re working with a well-established banking client in Brussels who needs a Business Analyst to join their data team – someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get technical.
This isn’t a box-ticking BA role. You’ll be working across critical banking functions, directly supporting the operations that keep the bank running. The team is in the middle of something exciting: they’re pulling data from a legacy mainframe environment into a modern data warehouse, and now they need someone who can build on top of what’s already there – designing new queries, uncovering insights, and shaping how the data model evolves.

What you’ll be doing
- Working across core banking functions with real visibility into how the business operates
- Writing complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from a large and evolving data model
- Understanding and navigating the relationships between datasets – joins, subqueries, cross-referencing across tables
- Contributing to the development of new reporting and data solutions built on top of the existing data warehouse
- Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into actionable data outputs
- Supporting the ongoing migration of data from mainframe systems into the warehouse environment
What we’re looking for
- SQL at an advanced level – you can independently write complex queries, understand data relationships, and work confidently with large data models
- Data warehousing experience – you know how data flows from source systems into a DWH and you’re comfortable working in that environment
- Advanced Excel – pivot tables, complex formulas, data manipulation – second nature to you
- Banking experience – you understand the sector, the terminology, and ideally the regulatory context that comes with it
Nice to have
- Experience with mainframe-to-warehouse migration projects
- Familiarity with the Belgian banking landscape
- French or Dutch proficiency (English the primary language)
