Business Manager, Investment Management

Our client is an international Investment Management Group with a solid growth plan in Asia.

As part of continuous developing in Asia, the group is seeking a high-calibre Investment Management Professional with diversify skills across business management, target operating model designs, strategy consulting and project management skills to join the CIO Business Management team, based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Reporting to Head of the CIO business management team, collaborating with both Group and local Investment teams to support the development of the firmwide operating model for investment management and investment division aligned to overall business strategy
  • Lead the ongoing refinement and execution of the Investment Management unit’s and investment processes operating model, ensuring clear prioritisation, effective progress tracking and visibility of key interdependencies and risks
  • Establish and maintain a robust measurement framework to assess the effectiveness of the operating model at a holistic level, distinct from traditional investment performance metrics
  • Drive and coordinate strategic initiatives and project work that underpin enhancements or changes to the operating model
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks to oversee critical external partnerships, providing meaningful input into relationship management and decision-making forums
  • Act as a key coordinator for governance bodies, including supporting working groups and committees linked to strategic investment oversight and external engagements
  • Provide secretariat and coordination support to senior investment committees, and help facilitate interactions between the Group CIO and executive leadership
  • Prepare high-quality materials and presentations for senior stakeholders, including executive committees and the board, while supporting additional adhoc priorities as required

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • An university degree with minimum 10 years relevant experience gained from Investment Management firms and / or an Asset Owner
  • Experience from business management, COO office, management consulting, strategy and transformation, performance / process improvement, project management and / or governance
  • Strong understanding of investment management operating model, operations and processes
  • Broad knowledge of diverse asset classes in public and private markets
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to influence stakeholders, while proactively driving decisions and taking ownership with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills with fluency in English
