Claims Examiner – General Liability
Hybrid Schedule from multiple US Office Locations (2 days in office/ week only)
$100,000 – $120,000 base + 10% bonus + benefits
A leading insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to join their General Liability team. This is a technical role handling mid to complex Commercial General Liability claims across a diverse portfolio. You will manage claims from first notice through resolution, with a strong focus on coverage analysis, litigation strategy, and stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle complex CGL claims including premises liability, slip & falls and other bodily injury cases
- Handle coverage matters including writing own coverage letters and coverage decisions
- Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
- Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with company guidelines and industry best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Commercial General Liability claims experience (premise/product/slip & falls etc.).
- Experience with other liability claims such as construction BI, NYLL and/or builders risk claims beneficial
- Strong exposure to coverage investigation and litigated files
- Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
- Bachelor’s degree required; industry designations (AIC, CPCU, etc.) are a plus
