The Role
You will act as a key compliance adviser to the regional business, supporting management and operational teams on regulatory, governance and privacy-related matters.
The position is broad and varied, requiring someone who can manage day-to-day compliance responsibilities while also contributing to longer-term improvements in controls, processes and regional governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior stakeholders and business teams on regulatory requirements and practical compliance solutions.
- Support the business in understanding how regulatory changes may affect existing operations and future initiatives.
- Coordinate regulatory filings, submissions and other ongoing obligations.
- Assist with enquiries, reviews and discussions involving regulators or external advisers.
- Review internal processes and controls to identify potential compliance risks or areas for improvement.
- Track outstanding actions and support the business in completing required remediation.
- Prepare clear updates for management and governance meetings.
- Work with colleagues across risk, legal, finance, audit and other control functions.
- Support matters relating to conduct, conflicts of interest, whistleblowing and financial crime.
- Help maintain appropriate privacy and data-handling practices across the regional business.
- Advise on the handling of sensitive information, third-party arrangements and data incidents.
- Develop and deliver relevant compliance training and awareness initiatives.
- Contribute to regional projects and business changes where regulatory input is required.
Candidate Profile
- Relevant compliance experience within financial services.
- Insurance experience is strongly preferred, particularly within commercial insurance, reinsurance, specialty lines or broking.
- Good understanding of Singapore regulatory expectations.
- Exposure to regional compliance matters would be advantageous.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and providing practical business advice.
- Comfortable managing a broad range of responsibilities independently.
- Able to combine attention to detail with a wider commercial perspective.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident, credible and able to provide constructive challenge.
- Practical knowledge of privacy or data governance would be useful.
- Legal training or qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
