Corporate Development & M&A – Insurance / Financial Services
New York, NY | Associate
We are working with a select group of leading insurance platforms and private equity firms who are actively hiring into their Corporate Development and Strategic M&A teams. These are in-house seats sitting close to the CEO/CIO’s office, working on live acquisitions, reinsurance transactions, JVs, and strategic partnerships that shape the direction of the business.
If you’re currently in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or actuarial advisory and want to move onto the buy side of a permanent platform, we want to hear from you.
What the role involves
- Evaluating and executing M&A, reinsurance, and strategic partnership transactions
- Building and maintaining financial models to assess acquisitions and deal structures
- Supporting due diligence workstreams across financial, operational, and regulatory areas
- Developing investment memos and board-level presentations for senior leadership
- Conducting market and competitor research across insurance, reinsurance, and asset management
- Partnering with business unit leaders on strategic planning and capital allocation
- Reviewing inbound opportunities from banks, advisors, and counterparties
What we’re looking for
- 2-4 years’ experience in investment banking (FIG a strong plus), private equity, corporate development, or actuarial/consulting roles
- Insurance or reinsurance sector exposure preferred, but not required if the modeling and deal reps are strong
- Advanced financial modeling and M&A transaction analysis skills
- Comfortable presenting analysis to senior stakeholders and investment committees
- Self-starter who can manage multiple live workstreams at once
Why make the move
This offers a permanent seat at the table on deals rather than rotating advisory mandates, direct exposure to C-suite and investment committee decision making, and a clearer long-term career path than staying on the sell side.
