Oliver James is currently partnering with a leading property & casualty organization seeking a Head of Investor Relations to lead its investor relations strategy and serve as the primary liaison between executive leadership and the investment community.
This is a highly visible leadership position that will work closely with the CFO, CEO, Board of Directors, investors, analysts, and rating agencies to shape the company’s financial narrative and support long-term value creation. The successful candidate will combine deep financial expertise with exceptional communication skills and a strong understanding of the insurance industry and capital markets.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall investor relations strategy and execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, analysts, and rating agencies.
- Develop and communicate the company’s investment narrative and strategic messaging.
- Provide executive leadership with market intelligence, investor sentiment, and industry insights
- Oversee quarterly earnings communications, investor presentations, earnings call preparation, and executive briefing materials.
- Coordinate messaging across Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Actuarial, and Legal teams.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of all external communications.
- Monitor industry trends, peer performance, analyst estimates, ownership changes, and valuation drivers.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking and provide actionable insights to executive leadership.
- Analyze financial results and market developments to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Treasury and Finance leadership on capital management initiatives.
- Support communications surrounding capital actions, financing activities, and strategic transactions.
- Maintain strong relationships with rating agencies and assist in rating discussions and presentations.
- Advise senior leadership on investor perspectives and market expectations.
- Prepare executives for earnings calls, conferences, investor meetings, and roadshows.
- Support Board reporting and strategic discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or CPCU strongly preferred.
- 12+ years of experience within Investor Relations, equity research, capital markets, corporate finance, or related disciplines.
- Prior experience within the P&C insurance space required.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and capital markets.
- Exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Experience interacting with investors, analysts, and rating agencies.
