Investment Banking Associate/Senior Associate – New York
A top-tier global bank’s investment banking division is expanding its Financial Institutions coverage team in New York. This is a high-growth desk with strong deal momentum, a deep pipeline, and real client and deal ownership from day one.
About the opportunity
- Join a lean, high-performing team where Associates get direct exposure to live M&A and capital markets processes, not just modeling in the background
- Work across a mix of buy-side and sell-side M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory mandates
- Backed by a major global balance sheet with a strong track record of closed transactions this year, including acquisition advisory, IPO bookrunning, and large-scale capital raises
- Fast-growing platform actively building out its junior bench, real opportunity for accelerated responsibility and progression
What we’re looking for
- 2-5+ years of investment banking, M&A advisory, or transaction execution experience (Analyst through Associate level considered)
- Strong technical foundation: 3-statement modeling, merger consequence / accretion-dilution analysis, valuation (DCF, comps, precedents)
- Demonstrated ability to independently own workstreams – diligence, deal materials, buyer/investor outreach, process management
- Comfortable working across complex balance sheets; financial services, specialty finance, or insurance exposure a strong plus but not required
- Candidates from bulge bracket, boutique, or Big 4 transaction advisory backgrounds welcome – we care most about deal reps and technical rigor, not pedigree alone
Process
Strong technical modeling skills are a prerequisite for this role. Candidates should expect a technical component as part of the interview process, alongside conversations with the team and senior leadership.
