We’re partnering with a well-established Property & Casualty insurance organization seeking an experienced IT Manager, Claims Technology to lead a high-performing application development team supporting a modern Guidewire Claims environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys balancing people management with hands-on involvement in solution design and technology strategy. The organization is currently executing a major transformation from an on-premises environment to Guidewire Cloud, making this a highly visible role with significant impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 8-9 direct reports, including Application Developers and Business Systems Analysts, along with 2-4 contractors.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, performance management, career development, and resource planning for your team.
  • Partner closely with business leaders, architects, and technical teams to deliver strategic initiatives supporting the Claims organization.
  • Drive application development efforts supporting Guidewire ClaimsCenter, including enhancements, integrations, modernization initiatives, and production support.
  • Participate in solution design discussions and provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Challenge architectural decisions when appropriate and help guide teams toward scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, change management, testing, release planning, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure Agile delivery best practices while collaborating with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and cross-functional technology teams.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience leading application development teams in an insurance environment.
  • Strong expertise with Guidewire ClaimsCenter.
  • Experience supporting or leading Guidewire Cloud or other cloud modernization initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage developers, Business Systems Analysts, and external consulting partners.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims operations and supporting business processes.
  • Comfortable working at both the strategic and technical levels, with the credibility to influence developers and architects during solution design.
  • Experience with Agile software development, modern DevOps practices, system integrations, and enterprise application delivery.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
