A global commercial insurance organization is seeking a Licensing Specialist to join its Legal & Regulatory Compliance team.
This role focuses on insurance company and reinsurance entity licensing, regulatory filings, legal research, and ongoing compliance across U.S. and international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Manage insurance and reinsurance company licenses and registrations
- Prepare and track license applications, renewals, and regulatory filings
- Handle corporate amendments, director/officer filings, and biographical affidavits
- Support holding company filings, affiliate transactions, and reinsurance-related regulatory matters
- Research insurance laws, licensing requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Communicate with state Departments of Insurance, regulators, outside counsel, and internal legal teams
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Underwriting, and Finance
- Support projects involving state expansion, new products, acquisitions, and entity restructurings
- Help improve regulatory workflows and processes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in insurance licensing, regulatory compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related function
- Strong understanding of insurance regulation and licensing
- Experience managing multiple regulatory deadlines
- Strong research, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
Preferred Experience
- Property & Casualty insurance experience
- Insurance company/entity licensing experience
- Experience working directly with Departments of Insurance
- Exposure to holding company filings, corporate amendments, reinsurance licensing, or state expansion
- Experience within a commercial, specialty, reinsurance, or multinational insurance organization
