Our client, a well-established leader in the insurance sector, is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their dynamic Finance team. This permanent role is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally and make a significant impact in a robust corporate environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial reports and statements.
- Lead new project initiatives that will help scale the overall accounting team.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) specific to the insurance sector.
- Prepare statutory financial statements and other regulatory filings.
- Assist in the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Work closely with internal teams to analyze financial data and report on financial performance.
- Support financial audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure all queries are handled efficiently.
Key Skills:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience in statutory reporting and finance operations within the insurance industry.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- Accounting Degree
- CPA
- Background in insurance or financial services
