A Senior Accountant will join a boutique real estate investment firm and take ownership of accounting, financial reporting, tax and real estate responsibilities. Someone with a background in real estate, either through public accounting or in-house, with a CPA, will be highly desirable.
Hybrid: 4 days a week in office
Responsibilities Include:
- Support and manage the month-end close process while preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial procedures and workflows, including leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency, while supporting special projects and ad hoc analyses
- Coordinate day-to-day real estate operations by partnering with property managers on rent collection, operating expense reviews, and lease administration
- Manage relationships with general contractors for tenant improvements and construction projects, including invoice review, budget tracking, and project coordination
- Coordinate tax compliance activities by managing estimated tax payments and collaborating with external advisors to support timely filings and financial deliverable
- Maintain accurate accounting records by managing accounts payable, reconciling general ledger accounts, monitoring cash activity, and ensuring timely vendor payments
Background/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance related field
- Accounting or Finance experience ina real estate firm. private equity firm, or public accounting is preferred
- CPA qualification is preferred but not a prerequisite
- Experience with real estate accounting or property-level financial management is a plus
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, stay organized, and effectively prioritize competing tasks in a small-team environment
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with external advisors and vendors
