Senior Claims Examiner – Property & Casualty Claims
Hybrid 2-3 days from Toronto office
$135,000 – $165,000 + 15% annual bonus
A leading insurance organization hiring a Senior Claims Examiner for their P&C commercial team. This is a senior-level technical role handling complex commercial property and liability claims. You will manage mid to high-exposure claims from first notice through resolution, with a strong focus on coverage analysis, litigation strategy, and stakeholder management. Adjuster License in Canada essential to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle mid to complex commercial property and commercial casualty / CGL claims through to conclusion
- Lead coverage investigations and draft detailed coverage position letters independently
- Manage litigated files, coordinating defense counsel and driving strategy through to resolution
- Evaluate liability, damages, and settlement exposure on higher-severity claims
- Maintain strong relationships with brokers, insureds, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- 4+ years commercial property and commercial casualty claims – essential to be considered
- Experience with other commercial claims highly beneficial
- Strong exposure to coverage interpretation and other coverage matters
- Experienced within litigation through all stages of the claims process
- Background with a reputable carrier or law firm
- Bachelor’s degree required; Adjuster License in Canada essential
