Our client is a well-established International Insurance and Investment Management Group. With increasing business activities and a solid growth plan in place for Asia, the group is now seeking a high-calibre Credit Risk Management Professional to join the Group Credit Risk Management team based in Hong Kong.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- A member of the Credit Risk Management function for the Asia portfolio (including both Public + Private Credit), providing credit risk oversight, governance and control, assessing counterparty risks, invested credit risk, asset portfolio risk exposure, group credit risk exposures
- Shape and strengthen enterprise-wide risk management practices by establishing robust governance, assessment frameworks and risk appetite measures for investment portfolios.
- Provide independent second-line oversight and challenge on credit policies, risk methodologies, governance standards, and investment-related initiatives, including new asset classes, private credits, strategies, and operating models.
- Review portfolio proposals, risk assessments, and limit requests, delivering clear recommendations to senior management and governance committees on key credit and investment risks.
- Oversee private credit portfolios, assessing portfolio quality, concentration risks, valuations, and governance arrangements while strengthening portfolio-wide risk monitoring capabilities.
- Provide specialist advice on counterparty exposures, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, assessed and controlled.
- Enhance portfolio monitoring, data management and analytics, and reporting capabilities to identify emerging risks, improve risk insights, and support more efficient decision-making.
- Conduct thematic risk reviews and market analysis, providing actionable insights on credit trends, regulatory developments, and potential portfolio vulnerabilities.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across investment, actuarial, finance and risk functions to influence strategic outcomes, support key business initiatives and drive a strong risk culture across the organisation.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualified with around 8+ years of relevant experience in Credit Risk Management, Credit Risk Governance, Credit Risk Analysis, Investment Risk and / or Portfolio Risk
- Industry experience from insurance and / or asset management
- Familiar with private credit, structured credit, credit and fixed income market and products
- Strong analytic skills with ability to extract and analyse complex information and data
- Understanding on credit ratings, experienced in developing risk framework, limit frameworks, risk measures, portfolio risk, risk management and governance processes
- Excellent reporting writing, presentation and communication skills in English
