Senior Treaty Underwriter – P&C | International / Asian Markets | Luxembourg

We are currently working with a successful and growing reinsurance business in Luxembourg on a senior opportunity for an experienced P&C Treaty Underwriter.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take a high-visibility role with genuine ownership, while developing an established portfolio and expanding the business across the Asian and international markets.

The Opportunity

  • Salary: Up to €180,000
  • Location: Luxembourg
  • Hybrid: 2 days working from home per week
  • Relocation: Potential access to Luxembourg tax exemptions for the first 5 years, subject to eligibility

The successful candidate will work closely with brokers, cedants and market partners, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders. The role will provide the opportunity to influence underwriting strategy, pricing, portfolio direction and future market development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of underwriting and managing a P&C Treaty portfolio
  • Develop and grow relationships across Asian and international reinsurance markets
  • Lead pricing, negotiation and structuring of treaty business
  • Support portfolio steering and underwriting strategy
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, cedants and market partners
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of an established business
  • Act as a senior technical reference point within the underwriting team
  • Work closely with actuarial, claims, risk and technical teams

About You

We are looking for an experienced Treaty Underwriter with:

  • 7+ years’ experience in P&C Treaty reinsurance underwriting
  • Proven experience across European and/or Asian reinsurance markets
  • Strong technical underwriting and pricing expertise
  • Experience with complex P&C treaty risks
  • Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills
  • An established broker and cedant network
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills
  • Fluency in English; additional languages would be advantageous
