Job Title: SQL/BI Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC – hybrid onsite 3 days per week

Pay Rate: $50-65/hr.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled SQL/BI Developer to join a technology team that supports investment operations through data engineering, business intelligence, and application development. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, building reporting solutions, and partnering closely with business stakeholders to deliver reliable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance SQL-based data solutions, reporting processes, and business applications.
  • Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation workflows.
  • Create and support dashboards, reports, and analytics using Microsoft Power BI and related Microsoft data technologies.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and recommend effective solutions.
  • Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and process automation across multiple business functions.
  • Participate in application enhancements, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
  • Provide occasional onsite support for business teams as part of a scheduled rotation.
  • Document technical solutions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience developing solutions with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Hands-on expertise writing advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Experience building reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Exposure to Databricks and .NET technologies.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly with stakeholders.
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting investment management, private markets, asset management, or other financial services environments.
  • Familiarity with investment data, financial reporting, or portfolio management systems.
  • Experience improving reporting automation, ETL processes, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Knowledge of modern Microsoft data technologies and cloud-based analytics solutions.
