Sr Analyst / Manager, Fixed Income Investments, Asset Owner

Our client is the in-house Investment Management division of a well-established financial services group. With increasing business activities and a solid growth plan in place for Hong Kong, the Investment Management unit is now seeking a high-calibre Investment Manager to join the Fixed Income team based in Hong Kong.

The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:

  • Report to the Head of Investments and be responsible for the oversight and management of the group’s investment portfolio, encompassing asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment risk management across long-term capital.
  • Support the active management of fixed income allocations, ensuring alignment with the overall portfolio strategy and long-term return objectives.
  • Monitor global capital markets and portfolio positioning on an ongoing basis, providing timely insights to inform strategic and tactical investment decisions.
  • Oversee and evaluate external investment managers, assessing performance, mandate adherence, and associated investment and operational risks.
  • Conduct rigorous investment due diligence to identify and recommend opportunities across asset classes, with a focus on risk-adjusted returns and portfolio fit.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic investment, performance and risk reporting for internal stakeholders, supporting governance and decision-making processes.
  • Enhance data infrastructure and investment processes by maintaining internal and third-party systems and contributing to technology and analytics-driven initiatives.
  • Apply quantitative techniques and support responsible investment practices, including ESG integration, while staying abreast of evolving market, macroeconomic and industry developments.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:

  • An Undergraduate Degree preferably with a Master degree or CFA designation
  • Min. 7 years of relevant experience in Fixed Income Research, Investment Analysis, Portfolio Management, Asset Allocations
  • Industry experience gained from Asset Owner, Investment Management, Pension Funds, Insurance General Accounts and / or sizeable Family Offices
  • Relevant experience gained from Investment Advisory firms would also be considered
  • Broad understanding of financial markets and derivatives products
  • Familiarity with Excel, SQL, VBA, and Python would be an advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English
