The Role

Reporting to the Tax Partner, the Tax Director will take ownership of complex tax strategy, compliance, and advisory services for a high-profile client base that includes high-net-worth individuals, entertainment clients, family offices, and closely held businesses. This is a senior appointment for a technically excellent professional who is equally comfortable in front of demanding clients as they are leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Planning & Strategy Design and implement tax-saving strategies for individuals and business entities; advise on entity structure, investment decisions, and long-term financial planning.

Compliance & Review Oversee the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns; ensure the practice stays current with evolving tax legislation and regulatory requirements.

Client Advisory Serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, entertainment clients, and family offices on significant financial decisions including acquisitions, real estate, and partnership matters. Lead and manage client engagements with a focus on tailored, high-quality service delivery.

Team Leadership Manage, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers; facilitate training and continuing education; review work product and ensure deadlines are consistently met.

Audit & Dispute Support Represent clients during IRS and state tax audits; handle complex notices, correspondence, and negotiations on their behalf.

Technical Requirements

  • Partnership and S-Corporation taxation
  • Multi-state taxation
  • Pass-through entity tax planning and compliance
  • High-net-worth individual taxation
  • US foreign reporting and compliance
  • Taxation of US non-resident aliens

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • CPA or EA designation – required
  • 7-12+ years of relevant tax experience
  • Advanced technical expertise across the areas listed above
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform under tight deadlines
