We’re partnering with a highly respected Top 100 public accounting and advisory firm seeking an experienced Tax Director – Trusts & Estates to join its growing Private Client practice.

This is an opportunity to work with successful families, business owners, fiduciaries, and high-net-worth individuals on sophisticated estate, trust, gift, and wealth transfer planning strategies. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor on complex tax matters while mentoring the next generation of tax professionals and helping shape the future of a thriving practice.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Tax Director, you’ll be a technical leader and trusted client advisor, providing strategic guidance on some of the most complex fiduciary and estate tax matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading complex trust, estate, and gift tax engagements from planning through delivery

  • Advising high-net-worth individuals, families, executors, trustees, and family offices

  • Reviewing fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns while ensuring technical excellence

  • Representing clients before taxing authorities during examinations

  • Delivering proactive tax planning strategies that preserve and transfer wealth

  • Partnering with audit, advisory, and client service teams on multidisciplinary engagements

  • Mentoring and developing high-performing tax professionals

  • Supporting business development through networking, referrals, and thought leadership

  • Staying ahead of legislative and regulatory developments affecting estate and fiduciary taxation


What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with exceptional client relationship skills.

You’ll likely have:

  • 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience

  • Significant expertise in Trust & Estate taxation

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Fiduciary income tax

    • Federal estate and gift tax

    • Washington estate tax

  • Experience representing clients before taxing authorities

  • CPA license in good standing

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s in Taxation preferred)

  • Previous experience leading, coaching, and developing tax professionals

Compensation

Up to $220,000 base salary, plus bonus and an attractive benefits package.
