Technical Accountant – Reinsurance
Our client, a leading international insurance and reinsurance organisation is looking to recruit an experienced Technical Accountant to join their team based in Paris. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, international team supporting global reinsurance operations while contributing to process improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
The Role
You will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, and operational management of assigned reinsurance accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance across financial processes. Working closely with Underwriting, Finance, Claims, and international colleagues, you will help deliver efficient operational support and maintain strong financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational underwriting and reinsurance accounting activities.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare financial and management reports.
- Monitor reinsurance receivables, payables, and associated bank accounts.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external clients to provide financial information and support.
- Support reporting processes, audits, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Requirements
- You need to be an experienced reinsurance accountant with a strong understanding of technical accounting processes and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
- Ideally 5-10 years’ experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) reinsurance accounting or controlling.
- Strong knowledge of Treaty and Facultative reinsurance accounting.
- Experience with technical booking, financial reporting, and accounting controls.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline (preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
