Senior UAT Lead – FINEOS Implementation | Contract (Remote):
We’re currently partnering with a leading benefits and life insurance organization on their search for a Senior UAT Lead to strengthen the User Acceptance Testing capability across their FINEOS implementation programme.
This isn’t simply a test-execution role. The current UAT approach is relatively immature, with limited structure and rigour in place, so we need someone who can walk into an ambiguous environment, work out what needs to be established, and put a clear, practical UAT strategy and governance framework in place – then own it end-to-end, from scoping and test-case development through to execution, defect management, risk assessment, and business acceptance.
You’ll work closely with business process owners, SMEs, Product, Technology, and QA to make sure the right scenarios are being tested and that UAT provides meaningful validation of the solution, not just a box-ticking exercise.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scoping UAT – defining testing boundaries, identifying the critical business processes to test, and determining the scenarios and test cases needed to validate the solution end-to-end.
- Developing, reviewing, and managing test cases, and coordinating business testers to ensure they’re prepared for UAT.
- Leading functional and regression testing, risk-based testing, and quality assessment.
- Owning defect management and triage, including test evidence, documentation, and reporting.
- Coordinating test data preparation and ensuring test environments and dependencies are ready.
- Onboarding business testers to testing processes and tools, including the planned rollout of SpyraTest.
- Assessing overall UAT quality and release readiness – weighing test coverage, results, outstanding defects, and business risk – and providing clear recommendations to programme and technology leadership.
What we’re looking for:
- We’re looking for a strong, hands-on UAT lead who can take genuine ownership of the testing approach rather than simply overseeing it – this is not a governance-only position.
- You should have strong experience leading UAT across complex technology implementations or transformation programmes, with a solid understanding of the underlying business processes rather than a purely technical testing lens.
- FINEOS experience would be a significant advantage, with ClaimVantage also relevant. Experience with ADO and/or JIRA is expected.
- You’ll need strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions around scope, coverage, readiness, and risk – influencing business testers, Product, Technology, and QA without direct authority over them.
- Comfortable operating in an environment where structure is still being established, while being highly organised enough to build that structure yourself.

This is a senior/lead-level individual contributor role (broadly IC4, ~8-10 years’ experience) with real ownership over how testing gets done across the programme, and direct visibility with programme and technology leadership on release readiness decisions.
