Vice President, Insurance Client Coverage

The firm manages a substantial and growing book of insurance capital and is looking to add an experienced hire to deepen engagement with insurance clients across the US and internationally. The mandate spans capital formation, client relationship management, and investor coverage, and is open to candidates whose experience sits anywhere along that spectrum.

The successful candidate will act as a senior insurance specialist on behalf of the firm, working across life, annuity, health, and property and casualty carriers as well as reinsurers and insurance affiliated asset managers. Responsibilities include ownership of a portfolio of insurance client relationships, engagement of the firm’s investment platform on behalf of those clients, contribution to the origination and structuring of new business, coordination of on-boarding and ongoing servicing workflows, and support for the broader growth of the insurance franchise through industry engagement, product development, and internal partnership across investment, product, legal, compliance, and operations teams.

Insurance clients bring a distinct set of considerations that shape how the coverage role is performed, including balance sheet management, rating agency treatment, capital and solvency frameworks, statutory and GAAP accounting, and the regulatory environments applicable to the underlying carriers. The search is therefore focused on a professional who can bring both a genuine understanding of insurance industry dynamics and the client craft required to operate as a trusted counterpart to senior insurance decision makers.

Requirements / Ideal Background:

  • Five to ten years of experience in financial services, with a meaningful portion of that time spent working with insurance clients in a coverage, capital raising, business development, or institutional client service capacity
  • Established relationships with insurance investors across life, annuity, health, and property and casualty lines, or with reinsurers and insurance affiliated asset managers, are a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of the drivers of insurance investment decision making, including capital and solvency considerations, rating agency treatment, accounting frameworks, and the regulatory context relevant to US and international carriers
  • Fluency across investment strategies commonly represented on institutional platforms, spanning public and private fixed income, private credit, private equity, and real assets, with the ability to translate those capabilities into insurance appropriate solutions
  • Experience running or supporting the client life-cycle, from initial engagement and diligence through on-boarding, ongoing servicing, and reporting, across a variety of fund and account structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the presence and judgment required to represent the firm to senior insurance counterparts and at industry events
  • Strong project management and attention to detail, with the ability to operate independently across concurrent work streams
  • Relevant licensing where required by role, and industry certifications such as CFA or CAIA viewed favorably
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field required, with an MBA or comparable advanced credential viewed favorably
