As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with other members of the finance team to support day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to financial reporting processes. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and professional development in a dynamic industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and assisting with audit inquiries.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances and discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions related to insurance policies and claims.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
