Managing Director, Fund CFO – Private Credit

Oliver James have recently partnered with a leading global alternative asset manager is seeking an accomplished Managing Director, Fund CFO to provide strategic financial leadership across a flagship private credit platform managing approximately $25 billionAUM.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Director-level candidate within the Asset Management space offering broad ownership across fund finance, financial reporting, investor servicing, operational oversight, as well as strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with senior investment professionals, executive leadership, operations, legal, compliance and external stakeholders while helping shape the continued growth of one of the firm’s most significant platforms.

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Fund Controller/SVP level candidate or senior finance executive with extensive private credit experience looking to step into a highly visible leadership role within a growing global organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the senior finance executive responsible for a private credit platform with approximately $25b AUM.
  • Provide strategic oversight of all fund accounting, financial reporting and finance operations across multiple private credit vehicles.
  • Own the quarterly and annual financial reporting process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with US GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee NAV production, valuation oversight and review processes in partnership with valuation, investment and third-party administrators.
  • Lead relationships with external auditors, fund administrators, tax advisors and other key service providers.
  • Partner with investment teams throughout the lifecycle of transactions, including fund launches, capital deployment, portfolio monitoring and fund wind-downs.
  • Oversee capital activity including investor capital calls, distributions, waterfalls and carried interest calculations.
  • Present financial results and key business insights to executive leadership, investment committees and board-level stakeholders.
  • Ensure robust internal controls, governance frameworks and risk management processes are maintained across the platform.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, automation and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a key strategic partner on new product launches, fundraising initiatives, acquisitions and broader corporate projects.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience within private markets fund finance.
  • Significant experience overseeing finance for large-scale private credit funds or credit-focused alternative investment strategies.
  • Deep understanding of private credit structures including closed-end funds, co-investments and related investment vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, fund accounting, financial reporting, valuation governance and investor reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large finance organisations and developing high-performing teams.
  • CPA is a MUST; public accounting background within the Big 4 is also required
