Vice President of Portfolio Finance – Private Credit

Oliver James have recently partnered with a leading global private markets investment firm as they seek to hire a Vice President of Portfolio Finance Operations to join their Portfolio Finance team in New York or Chicago.

The Vice President will be a leadership role within the team, holding firm-wide responsibility for deal funding, liquidity and financing across both the firm’s Private Credit and Private Equity strategies.

The ideal candidate would possess 7+ years of investment management experience, including at least 3 years managing private market processes and portfolios, combined with a strong quantitative and financial engineering mindset; our client is offering a competitive compensation package, exposure to firm-wide strategy, direct engagement with senior stakeholders and lenders, and much more!

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Private Equity and Private Credit investment teams, Investment Strategy & Risk Management, Operations, Accounting and Tax teams to optimise liquidity and financing usage across the firm’s portfolios.
  • Build and maintain forward-looking models to project cash flows from the new deal pipeline, capital inflows/outflows, asset lifecycle events and financing transactions.
  • Monitor portfolios and take action to manage cash levels, financing facilities, target leverage and key performance metrics.
  • Work with lenders to source and negotiate subscription line, NAV and asset-backed credit facilities.
  • Coordinate across internal teams to ensure the sourcing, maintenance and accuracy of projections used in economic decision-making.
  • Build and monitor portfolio risk metrics against pre-established risk guidelines in growing, dynamic portfolios.
  • Manage FX hedging processes across the investment portfolio.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of investment management experience, including a minimum of 3 years managing private market processes and portfolios (including permanent/open-ended capital structures).
  • Experience with private markets credit facilities preferred.
  • Structured finance experience a plus.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with treasury and financing functions, products and providers.
  • Experience communicating and collaborating across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
