Actuarial Manager

Senior Actuarial Manager – Workers’ Compensation

I’m partnering with a leading specialty insurer looking to appoint a Senior Actuarial Manager to take a key role within its Workers’ Compensation business.

This is a senior, commercially focused actuarial position with responsibility across pricing, profitability monitoring and portfolio analytics, working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance and senior leadership.

The role will include:

  • Leading actuarial analysis and strategy across the Workers’ Compensation portfolio
  • Developing pricing analyses, rate indications and profitability assessments
  • Monitoring loss trends, claims development and underwriting performance
  • Partnering with Claims to understand severity trends and key portfolio drivers
  • Supporting forecasting, business planning and reinsurance strategy
  • Presenting recommendations and insights to senior/executive stakeholders
  • Managing and developing actuarial talent

    Ideal background:

  • 8-10+ years of P&C actuarial experience
  • Strong Workers’ Compensation pricing, reserving or portfolio experience
  • ACAS required; FCAS preferred
  • Strong commercial and stakeholder-facing capabilities
  • Experience partnering directly with Underwriting and/or Claims

    Base salary: $141,640-$194,755 + 30% incentive

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to move beyond traditional actuarial analysis and have a direct influence on underwriting strategy, portfolio performance and business decisions.
