Front Office Solutions Technical Delivery Manager

Role Overview

The Technical Delivery Manager will bridge the gap between Front Office business users and engineering teams, managing the end-to-end delivery of application initiatives, Order Management System (OMS) capabilities, and Front Office technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Front Office Application Delivery & Solution Architecture (35%)

    • Lead the evaluation, design, and execution of application initiatives supporting Front Office Trading and Risk functions.

    • Analyze complex Front Office business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solution designs.

    • Oversee project documentation, architecture reviews, and security compliance throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

  • Stakeholder Liaison & Workflow Alignment (25%)

    • Serve as the primary IT liaison for Front Office traders, portfolio managers, and risk units.

    • Deeply understand daily Front Office workflows and strategic business roadmaps to propose proactive technology solutions.

    • Act as the key escalation point for Front Office stakeholders to resolve delivery issues rapidly.

  • Developer Management & Technical Direction (20%)

    • Supervise, coach, and guide internal developers, data architects, and external technical specialists who are based offshore.

    • Break down business requirements into actionable technical tasks for development teams and oversee delivery quality.

    • Work closely with engineering teams to guide technical implementation (hands-on coding is not required, but strong technical comprehension is essential).

  • Vendor Management & Enterprise Governance (10%)

    • Manage external vendor relationships, tracking progress and enforcing service level agreements (SLAs).

    • Ensure project deliverables strictly adhere to group policies regarding data governance, middleware integration, and reporting frameworks.

  • Reporting & Operational Excellence (10%)

    • Provide regular status updates, risk management reporting, and progress metrics to project workstreams and leadership.

    • Maintain high-quality standards to ensure minimal rework, zero high-severity incidents, and full compliance with audit and regulatory standards.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Financial Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a technology delivery leadership role within Financial Services, Asset Management, or Investment Banking.

  • Domain Knowledge: Proven track record of direct engagement with Front Office, Trading, or Risk teams, with a solid grasp of trading workflows.

  • Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with BlackRock Aladdin, eFront, or comparable Front Office OMS/EMS systems.

  • Technical Competency:

    • Strong understanding of enterprise API delivery, system integrations, and data platform solutions (e.g., Databricks).

    • Ability to converse technically with developers; familiarity with Python, R, JSON, or VB is an added advantage.

  • Languages: Professional fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is mandatory; proficiency in Cantonese is an advantage.
