Our client is a leading financial services group with established and expanding businesses across Securities Services, Custodian Banking, Asset Servicing. As part of the group’s new strategic initiatives, a newly created position has arising for an experienced Operations Transformation Leader to build and head a newly created function, overseeing initiatives that enhance securities trading operations, drive business innovation, and support strategic priorities.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Provide strategic leadership for a dedicated transformation function focused on enhancing operational effectiveness and supporting long-term business priorities.
- Oversee large-scale change initiatives, ensuring successful implementation, strong governance, and continuous enhancement of processes and service delivery.
- Take accountability for financial and operational workflows, including fees and billing, payment collections and operations, controls, issue resolution, and service execution standards.
- Serve as a key representative to regulators, market infrastructure partners, industry participants, and other external stakeholders on strategic and operational matters.
- Lead cross-functional programmes that support market development, product evolution, and enterprise-wide business objectives across multiple asset classes.
- Advance the organisation’s technology agenda by promoting automation, digital solutions, paper-less digitalization, artificial intelligence, and innovative operating practices.
- Design and strengthen operating frameworks, policies, controls, and governance standards to ensure regulatory compliance, scalability, and sustainable growth.
- Develop organisational capability through talent cultivation, succession planning, knowledge retention, and by fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree-qualified professional with academic credentials in operations management, supply chain management, engineering, business, finance, operations, technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in Operations, Transformation, Change Management and or Project Management.
- Industry experience from Banking, Securities / Trading / Markets Infrastructure, Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant regulated and operationally complex environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-wide transformation, modernization, digitalization and efficiency initiatives that generate tangible business impact.
- Proven people leader with the ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while driving organizational change.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with experience partnering closely with senior executives, regulators, external vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Committed to innovation and operational improvement, with exposure to digital transformation, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and process optimization.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with fluency in English and Cantonese, Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
