A great opportunity has become available with a financial services firm in LA, where they need an experienced Corporate Actions professional to process all events within the firm relating to transactions, restructuring, debt amendments etc. There will be multiple internal and external stakeholder engagement.
This is a HYBRID role in LA, California
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of corporate action events across multiple accounts, funds, and special purpose vehicles.
- Coordinate with investment, accounting, tax, legal, compliance, pricing, and other internal teams to validate and execute bankruptcy and restructuring-related transactions.
- Review complex corporate action events, validate details with data providers and external agents, and ensure accurate processing within the Geneva accounting system.
- Monitor daily workflows to ensure corporate actions are completed within required timelines and that established procedures, controls, and audit standards are consistently followed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including attorneys, custodians, agents, and other service providers.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and improve overall efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve cash and position reconciliation discrepancies arising from corporate action activity.
- Maintain and analyze operational data to support and enhance team KPIs and performance reporting.
- Prepare documentation and supporting information for internal and external audit requests.
- Contribute to additional operational initiatives, projects, and process improvements as needed.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in corporate actions, with strong knowledge of equity and debt securities
- Familiarity with financial industry platforms and communication protocols; experience with Geneva, Everest, and/or Bloomberg is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, with experience using Power BI and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage complex transactions, competing priorities, and time-sensitive deliverables.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working across multiple internal teams and external service providers.
