Lead Data Governance Implementation – International Financial Services Provider
Do you believe that you can only trust your data once you understand where it comes from and how it has been processed? And do you want to make that a reality for an international organisation? Then this is your role.
What will you be doing?
As Lead Data Governance Implementation, you are responsible for setting up, implementing, and continuously improving data lineage capabilities. You ensure end-to-end visibility of data flows from source systems to consumption, enabling the organisation to perform impact analyses, comply with regulations, and make confident, data-driven decisions.
You work hands-on with data lineage tooling, automate lineage harvesting, and integrate this with data platforms, ETL processes, and analytic environments. At the same time, you set global standards and work closely with business and IT to embed data lineage into daily ways of working.
Your responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and managing technical and business data lineage
- Configuring and optimising lineage tooling, including automated harvesting
- Translating complex data flows into clear visualisations
- Defining and implementing global standards for data lineage
- Collaborating with data owners, data stewards, engineers, and architects
- Identifying gaps in lineage coverage and turning them into pragmatic solutions
- Driving adoption through documentation, guidance, and knowledge sharing
What do you bring?
- A completed relevant master’s degree (Data, IT, Information Systems, or similar)
- More than 5 years of experience in data-related roles within complex, international environments
- Demonstrable experience automating data lineage and metadata management
- Strong knowledge of data flows, transformations, ETL/ELT processes, and SQL
- Experience in environments where data transparency, quality, and trust are central
This works in your favor:
- Experience with data governance disciplines (data ownership, glossary, reference data, data quality)
- Knowledge of modern data platforms (on-prem or cloud)
- Experience in regulated or audit-sensitive environments
- Relevant certifications in data management or metadata/lineage tooling
What can you expect?
A pioneering role within an international organisation where your contribution is immediately visible and tangible. A hybrid working environment with flexible hours, room for personal development, and the opportunity to build a global data governance capability that doesn’t yet exist.
Salary package
- €120K till €125K per year incl. OTE
