Reporting to: Head of Finance
The Opportunity
OJ’s client is looking for a qualified, commercially focused Management Accountant to join their Finance team. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for month-end reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and balance sheet control across multiple cost centres. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, using financial insight to support business performance, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close across multiple cost centres, including journals, P&L, balance sheet and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs for senior management.
- Analyse financial performance, identifying variances, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Deliver revenue and margin analysis by business unit and customer.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular P&L, balance sheet and working capital forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, providing clear commentary and insight.
- Oversee stock reporting and reconciliations and support effective working capital management.
- Prepare regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with accounting standards and financial controls.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies.
- Support ERP and finance technology development and implementation.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, customers and suppliers to monitor KPIs and improve business performance.
Key requirements
- Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA., ideally 4+ years PQE
- Strong experience in management accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Good understanding of Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and controls.
- Proven audit experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, distribution or supply chain would also be highly advantageous.
