Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting

Hybrid position – Great for mover from Assurance/Audit

Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting and accounting activities. This role offers exposure to insurance operations, reinsurance structures, and regulatory reporting while working closely with cross-functional teams across finance and accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Support quarterly and annual US GAAP and Statutory financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial analyses, reporting schedules, and management reporting packages.
  • Assist with accounting for insurance and reinsurance transactions.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and document internal controls and reporting processes.
  • Partner with auditors, business stakeholders, and external service providers.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, new transactions, and accounting projects.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CPA desierable.
  • 4-8 years of accounting, financial reporting, audit, or insurance accounting experience.
  • Understanding of US GAAP; Statutory accounting experience preferred.
  • Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services industry experience is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; ERP/GL system experience preferred.
