Senior Accountant
Location: Charlotte, NC
Overview
A leading insurance and reinsurance organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its U.S. Controllers team. This role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, reinsurance accounting, and technical close processes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own accounting and reporting for assigned book of business
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close under U.S. GAAP /Statutory
- Support reinsurance transaction onboarding and related accounting entries
- Partner with stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues
- Identify and implement process and efficiency improvements
- Support ad hoc projects and regulatory reporting needs
- Provide guidance to junior team members when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA highly desirable
- 4-7+ years accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience
- Insurance, reinsurance, or financial services experience preferred
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge; Statutory experience a plus
- Strong analytical, Excel, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
