SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Charlotte / Ballantyne, NC | Hybrid | $85k-$110k
We’re working a growing life insurance platform focused on retirement and annuity solutions, on a Senior Accountant opportunity reporting directly to the Director of Finance.
This is a great opportunity for an insurance accountant who wants to take ownership across GAAP, STAT, financial reporting and statutory accounting, while gaining direct exposure to senior leadership in a growing business.
KEY SPECIFICATION
- Prepare US GAAP & Statutory financial statements
- Accounting for multiple life/health insurance entities
- Prepare journal entries and detailed balance sheet reconciliations
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting
- Assist with Blue Book / statutory reporting
- Support external audit and statutory examinations
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Analyse financial results, trends and variances
- Support process improvements and ad-hoc Finance projects
- Work directly with the wider Finance team
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of US insurance accounting experience
- Life / annuity / health insurance industry experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of US GAAP + Statutory Accounting Principles
- Blue Book / statutory statement experience highly desirable
- Strong Excel / MS Office skills
- Experience with an ERP system
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- CPA or accounting qualification a plus
