Oliver James is working with a leading life insurance platform looking for a Senior Investment Accountant to join its Charlotte team. This is an opportunity to work across a multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio, with strong exposure to alternative investments, private assets, fixed income and portfolio analytics.
KEY SPECIFICATION
- Support accounting and reporting across a multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio
- Strong exposure to private investments, alternatives, fixed income and complex assets
- Investment accounting under US GAAP & Statutory Accounting Principles
- Portfolio performance, attribution and investment analysis
- Investment income, realized/unrealized gains, impairments and fair value
- Support Schedules B, BA, D & E and statutory reporting
- Prepare management, investment committee and senior leadership reporting
- Partner closely with Investments, Treasury, Actuarial, Risk and Financial Reporting
- Support process improvement, automation and reporting enhancements
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of progressive accounting, investment accounting, investment operations or investment analytics experience
- 3+ years of investment accounting within life insurance or an insurance asset management environment preferred
- Strong US GAAP + STAT knowledge
- Understanding of investment securities and portfolio reporting
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Experience with alternatives, private investments or structured products highly desirable
- Clearwater / Oracle experience a plus
- CPA highly regarded.
