Our client is a prominent global financial institution with solid businesses in capital markets and securities trading. With a strategic focus on expanding its footprint in Hong Kong and Mainland China, the firm is seeking a high-calibre Corporate Actions and Issuer Services Operations professional to lead a sizeable team in Hong Kong.
The key responsibilities for this position are as follows:
- Lead the delivery of corporate action activities and issuer service-related services across a diverse range of securities, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within required timelines.
- Take ownership of complex, exceptional, and market-sensitive events, providing oversight and direction to ensure successful execution.
- Monitor operational performance, assess emerging issues, and make timely decisions to minimize service disruption and execution risk.
- Identify potential operational vulnerabilities and workflow bottlenecks, implementing practical solutions to improve efficiency and control.
- Strengthen governance standards, internal controls, and risk management frameworks to maintain a resilient and well-managed operating environment.
- Direct incident investigations, perform root cause reviews, and implement corrective measures to reduce the likelihood of recurring issues.
- Represent the function in cross-departmental forums, contributing expertise and ensuring alignment across business and project stakeholders.
- Lead and support strategic initiatives, including regulatory changes, market developments, and business transformation programmes.
- Champion process optimisation, automation, and operational enhancement efforts to improve scalability, service quality, risk management, and client outcomes.
- Manage and develop a sizeable team of operations professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
Successful applicants will have the following skills and experience:
- An University degree with minimum 12 years’ relevant experience in Corporate Actions, Issuer Service, Asset Servicing and / or Securities Operations gained from investment banks, securities brokerages and / or clearing houses
- Transformation / Change Project Management experience in cross-divisional projects, operations, trading infrastructure or clearing operations
- Good understanding in governance, operational risk, internal control
- Broad products knowledge in equities, fixed income, stock-connect, HK, China and / or international markets
- Proven experience in team leadership
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin)
